Neall Taps Queen Anne’s County Administrator for Health Dept. Deputy Secretary Slot
The Maryland Department of Health has tapped a former Queen Anne’s County administrator to be deputy secretary of Operations.
The agency announced Wednesday that Gregg Todd will be assuming the role and that his first large-scale project will be to lead the department’s Facilities Master Plan, which will evaluate current department-owned facilities and their capacity.
“As former County Administrator for Queen Anne’s County, Gregg’s experience will enable him to effectively coordinate Departmental resources and collaborate with businesses, nonprofits and other government partners,” Health Secretary Robert R. Neall said in a statement. “He brings significant experience in innovative strategic planning to the Department, and we look forward to his ideas and strong leadership.”
Before joining the Health Department, Todd served as county administrator for eight years. In that role, he managed the daily operations of the county government’s 464-person team, including direct supervision of 10 department heads. He previously served as the chief operating officer for Queen Anne’s County, as well as the Parks and Recreation deputy director and Parks superintendent.
Todd received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and his Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Kansas State University. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Maryland program and the former county administrator affiliate president for the Maryland Association of Counties.
