Hogan Haul for Election Cycle Tops $19M

The campaign of Gov. Lawrence J. Hogan Jr. (R) announced Friday morning that he has raised more than $2.4 million over the past two months, bringing the campaign’s overall haul for the four-year election cycle to almost $19.2 million.
As of Oct. 21, the campaign had $3.3 million in the bank — a robust amount for the homestretch. Hogan has outraised his Democratic challenger, former NAACP president Benjamin T. Jealous, by a substantial margin. The governor has been on the airwaves since the June 26 primary, and Jealous has struggled to compete.
According to Hogan’s campaign, 95 percent of the governor’s donors in the past two months have been Maryland residents, and 78 percent of donors gave less than $200.
Since the start of the election cycle, the campaign said, 94 percent of Hogan’s donors have been Marylanders, and 65 percent gave less than $250.
The figures cited by the campaign include fundraising totals for the Hogan for Governor committee, Boyd Rutherford for Lt. Governor, and the Hogan-Rutherford Slate.
The filing deadline for campaign finance reports is midnight Friday, covering the period Aug. 22 to Oct. 21. It is the last reporting deadline before Election Day, Nov. 6.
