Incoming U.S. House Intelligence Chair to Rally Maryland Democrats Before General Assembly Start
California Congressman Adam Schiff will deliver the keynote address at the Maryland Democratic Party’s annual legislative luncheon.
The event, held on the eve of the General Assembly’s first day of session, brings together hundreds of state party members.
Schiff is the incoming chairman of the U.S. House Intelligence Committee.
“Maryland Democrats are excited to have Congressman Schiff deliver the keynote address at our 2019 annual legislative luncheon,” said newly elected Maryland Democratic Party Chairwoman Maya Rockeymoore Cummings. “Congressman Schiff has a front row seat to the Trump administration’s harmful policies, and I can think of no one better to remind Democrats of what’s at stake as we enter the 2019 legislative session and begin preparing for the 2020 presidential elections.”
Currently in his eighth term, Schiff represents a portion of California’s 28th District in Los Angeles County.
Schiff and U.S. Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md., 7th) we’re featured in a New York Times profile detailing their power to investigate the Trump administration.
The luncheon will be Jan. 8 at the Westin Annapolis.
