Climate Crusader Coming to Town

Bill McKibben, the author and founder of the national climate change group 350.org, is coming to Maryland Saturday to stump for Democratic gubernatorial nominee Benjamin T. Jealous.

McKibben, who endorsed Jealous in the Democratic primary when most green groups remained neutral, will participate in a Jealous campaign canvass at 2 p.m. at the Jealous headquarters in downtown Silver Spring. Later in the day, McKibben and Jealous will speak at a program at the University of Maryland on fighting climate change.

Most mainstream environmental groups are supporting Jealous in his general election bid to oust Gov. Lawrence J. Hogan Jr. (R).
