Shannon Sneed Lands a Job With Van Hollen

U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) announced Wednesday that he has hired former Baltimore City councilmember Shannon M. Sneed (D) to serve as his Baltimore City Regional Director.

Sneed recently completed a four-year term representing East Baltimore’s District 13 on the council after losing a bid for city council president in the June primary.

Before serving on the City Council, Sneed worked with Big Brothers, Big Sisters to recruit mentors to work with Baltimore’s youth. Prior to that, she worked in the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development. Sneed has also been a faculty member at Coppin State University and worked as an assignment editor and producer for Baltimore’s Fox45 and WJZ Channel 13.

“Given Shannon’s deep roots in Baltimore and her excellent work on behalf of its residents, I am thrilled to welcome her to our team,” Van Hollen said in a statement. “I’m confident she will continue to dedicate herself to the city that she loves and serve the people of Baltimore well in this new role.”
