Deputy Secretary for Public Health Services Nilesh Kalyanaraman said weekly respiratory virus-associated hospitalization rate increased ‘due in large part to increasing COVID and flu infections.’
“This is the first fall and winter virus season where vaccines are available for the three viruses responsible for most hospitalizations – COVID-19, RSV, and flu,” according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
