Rental Housing Group Gets New State House Lobbyist

The Maryland Multi-Housing Association, a trade association for owners and managers of multi-family homes and apartments, has hired a new lobbyist.

The Owings Mills-based association announced last week that it has hired Grason Wiggins as senior government affairs manager.

Grason Wiggins

Wiggins, a Maryland attorney and graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law, previously worked as the senior manager of government relations at The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance, a national trade group based in Northern Virginia. There, he was responsible for monitoring legislation in all 50 states, developing advocacy strategies (at the state and local level), and representing the interests of organizations within the pool and spa industry.

Wiggins also held positions responsible for policy and legislative matters with the International Franchise Association and spent four years in a variety of roles at the Maryland Department of Labor, including two years as director of Government and Regulatory Affairs. Additionally, he also served as a law clerk with the Baltimore County Office of the Public Defender and the House Ways and Means Subcommittees on Oversight and Social Services.

As senior government affairs manager, Wiggins will be responsible for all legislative affairs activities in Maryland.
