Maryland Matters on the Air

If you’re hankering for more talk about redistricting and the special General Assembly session taking place next week to draw new congressional district lines, tune in to WYPR’s “On the Record” Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

Host Sheilah Kast talks first to the Princeton Gerrymandering Project, which is evaluating congressional redistricting plans all across the country. It has given an “A” to the Maryland congressional plan advanced by the Citizens Redistricting Commission, which is aligned with Gov. Lawrence J. Hogan Jr. (R) — but an “F” for the plan that the General Assembly is likely to approve.

Then Kast talks to Maryland Matters Founding Editor Josh Kurtz about what next week’s special session is going to look like — and the national and political crosscurrents that will shape the debate over redistricting.
