Former House Ways and Means Chief of Staff to Join CDi Consulting Services
CDi Consulting Services announced Tuesday afternoon that Keith A. Walmsley, former chief of staff and adviser to House Ways and Means Chair Anne R. Kaiser (D-Montgomery), will assist the firm’s government relations effort.
“I am thrilled to be able to harness Keith’s advice, expertise and broad experience as well as his unique understanding of the inner workings of Maryland government,” CDi Consulting Services’ President Chris DiPietro said in a statement. “Mr. Walmsley’s relationships are second to none and will be a great resource for our clients.”
CDi Consulting Services represents some of Maryland’s largest employers in technology, banking, finance and local and national trade associations, including Bank of America, Microsoft and US Wind.
Walmsley, who has policy expertise in gaming law, K-12 education, business development and state revenue policy, will join DiPietro as a government relations liaison on behalf of the firm’s wide-ranging clientele.
Walmsley currently serves as principal public policy consultant at Walmsley Strategies and has a wealth of legislative experience, including serving as public policy director for the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council in the Hogan administration, assistant to the House Majority Leader from 2015 through 2017, chief manager for Kaiser when she was house majority whip, and legislative director for Kaiser during her time as chair of the Ways and Means Education Subcommittee.
“Keith was a key member of my team for more than a decade. His advice and legislative expertise have been essential to the success of my priority legislation during that time,” Kaiser said in a statement. “He is a credit to the government relations corps here in Annapolis.”
