Election 2020

Where Can You Vote or Drop Ballots This Election? We’ve Got Maps

Although state election officials are urging vote by mail in the Nov. 3 election, Marylanders will still be able to head to limited in-person voting centers to cast their ballot.

The following maps, color-coded by county, show where early voting and Election Day centers will be located, according to the Maryland State Board of Elections. Voters will also have the option of submitting a mail-in ballot at drop-off boxes located throughout the state.

In-person voting centers

Faced with a massive shortage of election workers earlier this year, state election officials opted to open larger, limited in-person voting centers instead of precinct-level polling locations. There will be more than 300 in-person voting centers across the state on Nov. 3.

Voters can cast their ballot on election day at any in-person voting center in their county. You can also submit a mail-in ballot at an Election Day voting center. The voting centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Early voting centers

Early voting will take place from Oct. 26 to Nov. 2, with roughly 80 centers across the state opening their doors from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Voters can report to any early voting center in their county to cast their ballot in-person before election day. You can also submit a mail-in ballot at an early voting center.

Early voting centers will remain open as regular polling locations on election day. If you vote early, you can’t vote on election day or by mail-in ballot.

Ballot drop-off boxes

Local boards of elections will begin deploying roughly 280 ballot drop-off boxes across the state starting this month. Voters who requested a mail-in ballot can submit it at one of the boxes rather than returning the ballot by mail.

State election officials ordered the steel drop-off boxes to be under 24-hour surveillance for the upcoming election.
