Lierman Bringing in Big Guns for Fall Fundraisers
State Del. Brooke E. Lierman (D-Baltimore City), who is pondering a run for state comptroller in 2022, is flexing her political muscle by bringing in a powerhouse lineup of women this fall to help her raise money.
Lierman’s first virtual fundraiser, scheduled for the morning of Sept. 25, will feature Maryland’s own Barbara A. Mikulski, the trailblazing former U.S. senator.
On Sept. 30, Lierman will welcome Cecile Richards, former Planned Parenthood president and co-founder of Supermajority, and Nykidra Robinson, founder of Black Girls Vote, for a virtual happy hour. And on Oct. 7, Valerie Jarrett, the former senior White House adviser to President Obama, will be featured at a virtual lunch.
There are different price points for those buying tickets to one event or all three. And to simulate the live fundraising experience, those who purchase tickets can pick up complimentary meals or snacks for the events from Baltimore eateries: breakfast from Teavolve for Mikulski; “drink and nosh” from SoBo Cafe for the happy hour; and lunch from Alma Cocina Latina for the Jarrett event.
Beyond her political fundraising, Lierman has hosted 30 webinars during the pandemic on a variety of issues and with a variety of policy experts. They’re archived on her YouTube channel.
