With the House of Representatives set to vote to impeach President Trump on Wednesday, the progressive group Moveon.org has scheduled hundreds of “Nobody Is Above the Law” rallies around the country for Tuesday evening, calling for Trump’s impeachment and removal. Seven events are taking place in Maryland.
Most rallies are set to begin at 5:30 p.m. — except for the ones in Baltimore and Gaithersburg, which kick off at 6 p.m.
They are taking place at: McKeldin Square in Baltimore; 754 Frederick Rd. in Catonsville, across the street from the late Rep. Elijah E. Cummings’ (D-Md.) district office; at the intersection of Broken Land and Little Patuxent parkways in Columbia; by the Alex Haley Memorial at City Dock in Annapolis; in downtown Bel Air, across the street from Rep. Andrew P. Harris’ (R-Md.) office; at Olney Manor Regional Park; and at Gaithersburg City Hall.
Several elected officials are scheduled to speak at the Olney event, including Montgomery County Councilmembers Gabriel Albornoz, Evan Glass and William Jawando, state Sen. Craig J. Zucker, and Dels. Eric Luedtke and Pamela Queen.
Elected officials are also scheduled to speak in Gaithersburg, including the city’s mayor, Jud Ashman, City Councilmembers Mike Sesma, Laurie-Anne Sayles and Neil Harris, and state Dels. Gabriel Acevero and Julie Palakovich-Carr.
A larger pro-impeachment rally will take place outside the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday morning. Click here for the full roster of events.
