Dear Maryland Matters Reader,
Even though it’s our anniversary, I will resist the temptation to ask you for money.
No begging, cajoling or coaxing for cash.
Two years ago today, Maryland Matters published its first story. Hooray!
And thank you.
We couldn’t have done this without you.
And as we celebrate our progress, I invite you to join us as we map out our future.
When Maryland Matters began publishing, I was determined to make good on the promise of a free press. Determined to provide quality independent and nonpartisan journalism to keep you informed about important public policy issues in the state we love.
How are we doing?
If you would, let me know about two key points:
—What do you enjoy most about Maryland Matters?
— What new or expanded coverage would you like to see?
Ultimately, ideally, I’d like to incorporate many of your ideas into our coverage.
Please take a few moments now, before your Maryland Matters Memo arrives. And thanks again for reading and supporting our grand experiment in news – and democracy – in the digital age.
With deep appreciation,
Editor and Co-Founder
P.S. Today we celebrate our two-year anniversary – and our progress, from a volunteer effort to a small paid staff, continually working to fulfill our mission to provide you with quality independent and nonpartisan news. I’m so grateful to you for making this possible. And I’d be honored if you clicked here to give us your thoughts on how we’re doing. Thank you!
I look forward to hearing from you at [email protected]
