John Delaney Thinks You Ought to Be in Pictures

With all the focus on whether Gov. Lawrence J. Hogan Jr. might challenge President Trump for the Republican nomination in 2020, it’s easy to forget that another Marylander has long been in the race for the White House. Now he’s putting out a call for help – and he’s offering pizza and a chance for glory in return.

Former Maryland congressman John K. Delaney, a Democratic candidate for president, is looking for extras to appear in a TV ad his campaign is shooting Sunday. The shoot will take place from 2:15 to 6:30 p.m. at the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring. Pizza will be served.

Delaney was the first to jump in the race, declaring his candidacy in summer 2017, and has spent a great deal of time in Iowa and New Hampshire since then. But he’s no longer lonely – and several more high-profile candidates have now entered the fray.

The Delaney campaign is sending out emails to supporters asking them if they’d like to attend the shoot. The man who replaced Delaney in Congress, U.S. Rep. David J. Trone (D), is doing the same.
