Rifkin Weiner Livingston LLC, a regional law firm with one of the top-earning lobbying practices in Annapolis, is announced Thursday that Eric Bryant and John C. “JR” Reith will become co-chairmen of the RWL Government Relations Division.
The firm’s Annapolis operation has been led for 15 years by Joel Rozner, who will remain with the firm and keep his robust lobbying practice.
Bryant, a former lawyer at the NAACP, has been lobbying in Annapolis for more than 20 years. Reith, formerly director of business development for the firm, served as co-chairman for two of former Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich’s campaigns for governor. He also served as a member of the inaugural committee for Gov. Lawrence J. Hogan Jr. (R) in 2015.
“Joel’s leadership, talents and professionalism as the chairman of the firm’s Government Relations Division set a high bar, but Eric and JR have shown that they have the ability and professionalism to meet that high standard,” said Alan M. Rifkin, the firm’s managing partner. “I know they will lead the firm and our clients well.”
RWL is a full-service law firm with offices in Baltimore, Annapolis, Greenbelt and Rockville. While it has gone through several iterations in the past two-plus decades, it was one of the first in Annapolis to develop the team lobbying concept – after the industry had been dominated by sole practitioners.
The firm’s government relations shop has nine lobbyists. Clients include Dominion Energy, the Maryland Realtors Association, the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association, the Maryland Jockey Club, the Maryland Hospital Association, Facebook, FedEx, Orsted, PEPCO, Uber and Waste Management, among others.
