Election Contest: We Have a Winner!

Two contestants stormed through our general election prediction contest, each getting 15 correct answers of the 23 initial questions that we asked. But after the first tie-breaker — predicting the voting percentages in the three-way race for Montgomery County executive — we are able to declare a victor.

Vaughn Stewart

Del.-elect Vaughn Stewart

Drumroll, please…The winner is Vaughn Stewart, an attorney who was just elected to the House of Delegates from District 19. He edged out Gene Ransom, executive director of Med Chi, the Maryland Medical Society.

This ends the winning streak for attorney and lobbyist Leonard N. Lucchi, the ultimate political junkie who won both our primary prediction contest in June and our trivia contest in the early spring. But we know he’ll be formidable when we do another trivia night next year.

Thanks to all who entered the contest!
